Description
Fenered® is manufactured by RSM Enterprises.
MPHL is a hereditary condition (also known as androgenetic alopecia or AGA; male pattern baldness or MPB) in which the hair follicles are particularly sensitive to the sex hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Male pattern baldness begins above the temples and vertex of the scalp and anterior mid-scalp area.
DHT is known to be a key factor for follicle death and hence for the loss of hair. The active ingredient of Fenered® Finasteride is a type II 5-alpha reductase inhibitor and has a trichogenic activity (growth of hair). It blocks the action of 5-alpha reductase enzyme, which is is responsible for conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Due to inhibiting of this enzyme, Fenered® lowers scalp and serum DHT concentrations (up to 60%) and slows down the complete hair loss process.
Finasteride in higher doses (Finast®, Fincar®, Proscar®, Prosteride®) is used for the treatment and maintenance of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), female hirsutism (non-pregnant women with PCOS or with idiopathic hirsutism).
Dosage
Fenered® for MPB treatment is available in tablets. Each tablet contains 1 mg of Finasteride.
Take one tablet orally (by mouth) once a day, with or without food.
You should take the Fenered® at the same time every day.
Take Fenered® daily for at least 3 months or more if necessary before any noticeable results occur.
If Fenered® has not worked for you over a 12 months course then it is unlikely that further treatment will benefit.
Do not stop taking Fenered® suddenly, as any therapeutic benefits will be reversed.
Always consult your doctor or pharmacist if you want to stop the treatment before time or if you are intended to prolong treatment.
Missing a dose
If you miss a dose you should take it as soon as you remember about your missing. If it is the time for the next dose you should continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not exceed the doctor's recommended dose.
Overdose
If an overdose occurs and you are feeling unwell, you should seek emergency medical attention or contact your healthcare provider immediately.
